Puerto Cancun Golf Club
About
Puerto Cancun Golf Club has an ideal location nestled right in between Cancun's hotel zone and the downtown area. The course is a Tom Weiskopf design that allows the natural beauty of the tropical landscape to be the star. You're never too far from the water on this golf course, with several holes that play along the shoreline and the Marina. Almost every hole offers views of the sparkling blue waters of the Caribbean. Puerto Cancun Golf Club stretches to just over 7,200 yards from the back tees with holes that will test both your distance and your short game skills. The winding fairways demand accuracy and there are strategically placed traps along the greensides. The final hole is a memorable one with a green that is situated on an island in the main canal of Puerto Cancun.

Breezy Par 3 Ocean Hole Photo submitted by Danny2317963 on 11/30/2015
Work in progress but excellent course
Some construction surrounding the course; but is not a deterrent to your round.
All the amenities; pro shop, coffee shop, putting green and driving range are basic but the prices in the pro shop are much more reasonable than other comparable courses.
The course layout is good but long par 3s are near impossible for average players to reach from tee. Especially for the forward tee players with 20+ handicap.
The condition of the fairways and greens were excellent.
The green fee is comparable or cheaper than other like courses. Close location to the hotel zone makes it attractive to play.
There are canals but you only see the ocean on one of the holes.
Compare to other courses of slope rating 120(forward); I give it 8 out 10.
Golf Now is tops in my book!!!!
I got a great rate with GOLFNOW, making it affordable, otherwise I would not be able to play this course. Course was in good shape , greens were good and fairways were pretty spacious.
Challenge Course!
Very challenging course in great conditions from tee box to greens. Some narrows fairways but bigger than normal greens. Highly recommended!
Not worth it
Staff was extremely rude. Had an issue with club rentals and instead of listening to me and coming up with a solution they would not let me leave unless I paid $140 for something that cost anywhere else 50 to 60 dollars. This course seems to have issues as we were the only ones playing. Would not recommend it.
cancun vacation
The golf course location is not correct. took the R1 bus to Bonnapack ave. cab to course 40 pesos.cab from hotel zone 30 us dollars. Par 3s very difficult but gorgeous. 200 yards. wind in face of the Golf of Mexico.great pace. played 2 days Handicap 12 I shot 99-99 both days. left clubs overnight at course. staff very nice. Stefanie in club house very sweet.
Nice Course
Very nice layout and overall well kept. The sand in the bunkers is really shallow, so be careful because your club will bounce. I rented clubs and they asked me if I wanted regular flex or stiff. I asked for regular flex and the driver was, but the 3 wood and 3 hybrid were stiff. Something I didn't find out until halfway through the round, wondering why I couldn't hit them. The beverage cart came to us on the 9th and 18th hole, so not much use to us. We came upon one hole where two of the grounds crew was on the tee box getting ready to hit. They stepped aside for us, but left their tee ball on the box. Have never seen that before. After we hit our drives, they hit their balls and played the hole right behind us. They were driving one of the maintenance carts.
Again, the course is very nice, but the service is so-so. Best to bring your own clubs, or double check the set they give you before you play.
Great Location to Hotel Zone
We stayed at RIU Peninsula and this course was a short cab ride. Great course in good shape, very friendly staff, left our clubs overnight, RIU offers a great twilight rate that can be booked direct with course.
Nice condition, good price, friendly staff, good options on tee boxes
Loved this fairly new course on the center of Cancun. Easy to get to and fun to play. Wide fairways, some water and nicely maintained sand traps. Newly opened small pro shop and outdoor bar/restaurant. The car boy brought us hit panini sandwich that was delicious. Nit much play so we played a 3 hour round as a twosome. Give it a try!
Hidden Gem - Must play here if you're in Cancun - Well maintained ocean front
Amazing ocean views!!!! Immaculately maintained. Friendly helpful staff.
If you're staying at a resort, be sure to use your concierge service. My hotel's concierge arranged transportation (from my hotel to the club included in the package# and a discount on greens fees. According to locals, this is the best value for the money. On the drive to the club I recall seeing the more established clubs that had lengthy patches of dried out greens. That was not the case here. Lush greens. Panoramic views. Fascinating modern architecture surrounds the course. Tasty clubhouse food.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
A word of advice - #perhaps this goes without saying, but...# be sure to bring cash for tips - USD is appreciated by the folks and staff. I made the Americentric assumption that you can square cash or venmo people, but that's not really the norm. Lot's of folks are very helpful and it's nice to be able to express one's appreciation with cash. #I did get to tip people after my round by getting funds at the clubhouse, but it would've been easier to just do it at the time the help was provided. Lesson learned.)
Great Course in a Convenient Location
We played this course after finding a "Hot Deal" on Golf Now. Most of the taxi drivers do not know the location of the course, but it was not difficult to find. It was a 15-20 minute cab ride from the Paradisus, and is located at the north end of the Hotel Zone on the mainland.
The course was in great condition and the staff was very friendly. The course has 2 very distinct sides with the front nine working away from the ocean and is somewhat protected from the breezes. It does have trouble on many of the holes in the mangroves though, but overall, the course is very fair with generous fairway widths. The back nine is a different animal when going towards the ocean where the breeze picks up substantially. The are a couple of holes that require one to club down substantially due to the stiff breezes coming in off the ocean. It was very breezy on the day we played, so I am not sure if this is typical or not, but it definitely made the course play much longer on the back nine.
I would not hesitate to recommend this course, and I will definitely play it again on our next trip to Cancun.
Beautiful course by the water
The course was very well maintained, and a pleasure to play. Received a good deal from Golf Now, and would certainly play this course again. Let do say that it is a new course (~ 2 years old), and does not yet have a club house. Nonetheless, I was there to play golf, not hang around in the pro shop.
Great for the future
Great course, hasn't settled in yes, surrounded by building sites. That ignored, fantastic golf I would highly recommend
Highly recommended!
Highly recommend this course if staying in Cancun. Fairly new course, but is in excellent condition. Tough layout in some areas but fun to play. Back nine is fun with 2 par 5s back-to-back and 2 par 3s back-to-back. Would encourage those to take advantage of GolfNow deals. Regular price is $170, but got deal through GolfNow for $40. Rental clubs were $50.
Most beautiful course I've ever played
While vacationing in Cancun I used the GolfNow app to locate courses nearby. Puerto Cancun was close and had amazing reviews. The hot deal for $45 for 18 with cart and range balls was one I could not pass up. Early in the morning I jumped in a cab and told him where to go. The course is brand new so he was unsure exactly where it was but we found it with no problem. We arrived at the course and as others have said there is no club house yet, but one will be completed by the end of summer. The starter directed me to start on the back 9 and off I went with no one in front of me. I played all 18 and did not wait on any other players. The course was amazing with two holes playing directly alongside the ocean with several other holes along waterways lined with large yachts next to amazing homes, condos and apartments. The course was in great shape and was quite challenging. I played from the middle tees and it was still pretty long. I loved this course and I would have paid at least $250. Once the construction around the course is completed, I guarantee the price to play will be high. PLAY THIS COURSE!
Great Course Great Staff Great Golfnow!!!
Got the tee time and discount on Golfnow....course cost me $55 USD....should have been $170 without Golfnow....paid $45 for club rental....clubs were good....course was great....had a great time...would recommend...but use Golfnow!!! but still would have been nice course for $170....
This course was excelent a great chalenge for a high hindicap
Im really recomned it its a very nice place with a good facilities
Newer course in cancun
Excellently maintained course with nice layout. Plays long with the cancun wind but aside from all the construction about a great course in a developing community. No clubhouse but course made up for it. Great greens and fairways. Enjoyed it will choose it again before I leave.
Good course but...
The course was in pretty good shape. Fairways good and wide with lots of sand, water, and marshes to penalize you for errant shots. Greens were a bit slower than I am accustomed to but were all large well protected greens.
Now the but part. No clubhouse. Under construction I guess. Staff working out of construction trailer with little to no merchandise available. No decent golf balls to purchase whatsoever. Scorecards did not have map of golf course on them but did have maps of greens. Rental clubs were decent. Once they get clubhouse built (I did not see even any walls going up) this course has the potential to be a really really nice experience.
Nice Addition to Cancun Golf!
Awesome layout, will be a first class course once the clubhouse is completed. Extremely challenging course (played on a windy afternoon); however, staff were incredible - very user-friendly and accommodating. This track is a definite "must play"!
Great course - very fun
Taxi driver didn't know where it was...the clubhouse was a tiny trailer...we were concerned. However, upon seeing the course we knew we were in for a treat. Folks at the course couldn't have been nicer. Greens fees ($110USD) were half what we paid for a much worse course the next day. Layout was fantastic and dramatic - 13th hole runs right up to the ocean, and 14 runs along the ocean. It was crazy windy when we played which made a tough (but fair) course all the more challenging. Lots of tidal water - off the fairway and you were in the soup. We agreed that if back in Cancun this would be our destination course. LOVED it.
FWIW, I did not comment on the quality of food and beverage (there wasn't much as there is no clubhouse yet) nor on conditions of the overall facilities (other than a few bathrooms there wasn't much to the facilities). These will be built out as lots are sold/houses are built.
Sorry about that but usually your'e charged a lot more for lost or broken clubs, club needs to replace them.
